Terms
These terms cover your use of Van Ring (“we”). By using the site or service, you agree to them.
The service
Van Ring is an automated phone assistant for local service businesses. It answers calls, takes down the caller’s details and passes them to the business. It is software, not a person, and it can make mistakes. Check important details before you act on them.
Setup requests
Sending a setup request does not start phone service, forward your calls or charge you. To start a trial, complete signup and review the forwarding instructions after your Van Ring line is ready. You choose when to turn on forwarding with your phone provider.
Free trial
When you start a Van Ring subscription, Stripe collects your card details at signup. Your 7-day free trial starts that day. The free trial includes up to 300 minutes of answered calls. We do not bill extra minutes during the free trial.
Optional business search
When Google Maps business search is available, its use is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. You can enter your business name yourself instead of selecting a search result.
Your responsibilities
- Give us accurate information and keep your account secure.
- Tell your callers that calls are answered by an automated assistant and may be recorded or transcribed, as the law requires where you and your callers are.
- Do not use Van Ring for anything unlawful, deceptive or harassing, or for emergency calls. Do not rely on it to answer 911 or other urgent safety calls.
- Follow the rules of your phone carrier and the laws on calls and texts.
Fees and payment
Van Ring costs $99 per month. Each billing period includes 300 minutes of answered calls. Unless you cancel before the 7-day free trial ends, Stripe automatically charges your card $99 when the trial ends and monthly after that.
After the free trial, minutes beyond the 300 included in a billing period cost $0.20 each. We add together all answered-call seconds in the billing period, then round that total up to a whole minute. We bill only the whole minutes above 300.
Payments are handled by Stripe. Unless the law says otherwise, charges already made are not refunded.
Your data
You keep ownership of your business information and call records. Call records may include call times, durations, recordings, transcripts and summaries where we keep them. You let us use these records to run and improve the service, calculate billable usage, report usage to Stripe and resolve billing disputes. See our Privacy page.
No guarantees
The service is provided “as is” and “as available.” We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free or that every call will be answered or captured correctly. Phone and AI providers can fail.
Limit of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost calls, lost business, lost profits or indirect damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 3 months before it.
Ending service
Cancel anytime before the 7-day trial ends and you are not charged. After that, cancel anytime; service runs to the end of the paid month. You can cancel through the Stripe billing portal or by emailing us. We may suspend or end service if you break these terms or put the service or others at risk.
Changes
We may update these terms. If we do, we will update the date above. Continuing to use Van Ring after that means you accept the change.
